Follow a 2-years master programme in Materials Science and Chemical Engineering within 5 universities in 3 European countries (France, Poland and Spain) that host world-renowned leading research laboratories in the field of energy-related materials.
The European Master Course Materials for Energy Storage and Conversion "MESC" is designed to provide a 2-years (120 ECTS) education program in materials science and electrochemistry within 5 universities in 3 european countries : France (Marseille, Toulouse, Amiens), Spain (Cordoba), Poland (Warsaw). These universities host world-renowned leading research laboratories in the field of energy-related materials.
MESC has been granted by the European Commission as an Erasmus Mundus master course. Erasmus Mundus supports European top-quality Master Courses and enhances the visibility and attractiveness of European higher education in third countries. For european students who join MESC it is also an opportunity to study in a multicultural environment since our students come from all over the world. That's why classes are taught in English by professors and researchers who interact through the european network of excellence Alistore. MESC Students study in between two and four different European countries.

ADMISSION CRITERIA

Applicants will be evaluated on the basis of their prior performance and professional promises, as evidenced by academic records and letters of evaluation from individuals familiar with their capabilities.
Besides usual evaluation of student's records, applicants will have to explain their goals and interests in following a european master course.
As all the courses are taught in English, students whose native language is not English must take the TOEFL / TOEIC examination prior to applying to MESC. A minimum level of 550 points (TOEFL) is required.
You will fill up a form and be asked to attach some documents. Please make sure to have electronic versions of :

  • your cv
  • 2 letters of recommandation
  • your transcripts of records
  • a proof of your level in english.

SCHOLARSHIP

If you are a graduate student from a "third country" (all countries of the world with the exception of the 27 EU Member States, Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein, you can apply for an Erasmus Mundus scholarship.
For the academic year 2009/2010, Erasmus Mundus grants are also made available for students from Turkey and Balkan area.
The scholarship covers your travel and living expenses and tuition in Europe for the full duration of the course:

  • The scholarship for the full length of the course is  42,000 €
  • MESC will pay your grant every month on the bank account opened at your arrival
  • The tuition fees (2.000 €/semester) will be deducted from your scholarship.

There is no particular form for Erasmus Mundus grants applications. Students selected on MESC main and reserve list will apply directly for the grant.

Please note that both electronic and paper applications have to be submitted before January 31st 2009.
